Wasn't there a challenge where you had to find and kill a bear and one where you had to catch the enemies fighting a bear? Also you had to find bear to get weapons upgrade? Or am I thinking of another game

I'm 32hrs in and have yet to beat anyone besides the Snake. I'm just buying maps going to places and building up my health and technics. I'll probably get back to the actual story this weekend but for now I'm exploring and farming
