Philly school offers cash reward for students to stop fighting

This is fucking stupid....

in before someone gets jumped for "flashing the cash"
 
I live in Philly anddddddd the schools are an utter mess so I think its a good idea.

what happens is, if nobody fights the whole school year, kids in the 8th grade will be awarded $100 at graduation.

I think it gives kids a sense of community and helps us hold each other accountable and really look after each other.
 
I don't like it. The bar just seems so low. Money for not fighting? May as well give them money for breathing, because thats what they are supposed to do. Why not give incentives for extraordinary achievements? Elevate those students who excell so others can follow suit.
 
the fact they put two rival schools and hoods in the same building was going to be a problem.

king and germantown in the same building? i surprised more kids aint dead yet. real talk
 
Idk about this. I fought all the time a 100 at the end of the year wouldnt stopped that. But idk big cities dont have a community vibe so i guess they gotta try something
 
There was no incentives like being paid, but thats all we had to do at the alternative schools (middle and high) to pass.

Show up, dont fight, dont get caught smoking.....we played ball, watched movies, beat on the desks and rapped and shit....and all passed lol
