OPINION Is Marvel's Black Panther movie really a "special moment" for Black America??

That's the whole point of the forum to discuss and talk about black community issues.

Shit damn near 40 pages and still on topic.

If Niggaz wanna debate with me let them debate with me

Nigga you shut the fuck up, you been crying about this shit for over 2 damn weeks. Niggas going to feel how they wanna feel, who the hell are you to tell them otherwise.

It's cool that you don't know how to have constructive debates where multiple points and opinions are shared on important topics in our community.

But don't get mad at me cuz your communication skills are lacking

Bitch nigga

:ainttrippin:

I call bull shit.

You can try. You won't get very far. I'm not talking about black actors in a movie either, I'm talking about black actors in a black movie. A movie designed with a black audience at the forefront of its decision making.

How many do we have that can't be filed under those aforementioned categories?

Lol, so how do we settle this?

I list all the positive black movies,

While you list the negative ones

And while we're doing this you trying to convince me I'm the negative one...

Irony at it's finest

Bruh this is what you said verbatim

Nigga it's 2018
Not 1960

We been broke that mold.....

But I get it that's all y'all focus on cuz that's what y'all wanna focus on....

I'm the wrong one

I just really read this. Nigga, you really think that we've broken the mold to the point that the world doesn't see Black Americans as how we're represented in the media?

Nigga... When's the last time you been out the country? And I ain't even talking about the majority of white people here that still think we adhere to these stereotypes.

We ain't break shit, my nigga. We're doing a little better than 1960, but doing better than "worst" is still "bad".

It is irony. Because Black Panther doesn't adhere to any of those stereotypes, niggas is mad happy about it, and you still finding a way to piss on the parade.

Lol.

Y'all focus on the negative aspects of our people. Y'all obsess over the negative shit.

And attack me cuz I say it's not all bad.

Yall romanticizing African culture, I point out that we have our own beautiful culture and people and I'm negative...

It's like y'all only see the bad when it comes to our people . And the only shot at good is Africa.

I see that as self hate

But I'm alone.
I'm the hater.

Go figure

Lol.
The black american in the movie is the villain. He is obsessed with connecting with his people back in Africa. And he is the villain.

The hero is the African King who is like, fuck you fake ass american, you will never be accepted by our people.

The actor playing the the African King says he relates more personally with the villain in the movie.

This sounds like self hate.
Like you only see the negative.

I see our people as beautiful, bright, and making great strides and efforts in establishing ourselves as a whole every day.

Sucks that you don't see that.... But maybe a movie about some comic book Africans will change your perception

Amd even with black actors in non black-centric films....how many awards has a black actor/actress won or got high esteem for a role they played that WASNT a negative/stereotypical role...not including biopics

@King Du I understand your position man I really do...and I respect it.

I just cant get with you calling a Black person desperate or corny or ashamed for wanting to learn more and attempt to connect to a heritage that wasnt lost...but stolen...taken away by force.

Bruh... You really oversimplify shit. No one is obsessing over the negative aspects. Niggas is TIRED of the negative aspects.

So what if niggas wanna romanticize their ancestral home? You don't think niggas in Africa romanticize America? If that was the case, then we wouldn't have so many immigrants from Africa.

If we wanna have a 2 hour reprieve from the fuckery that our country dumps on us daily, a reprieve that's damn near for us, by us, why is that a bad thing?
