Artist: Jay Z
Song: Give it 2 Me
Borrowed flow from: Biggie
Example of borrowed flow:
Evidence:
Jay raps "When the Remy's in the system, ain't no tellin'
Will I fuck 'em, will I diss 'em, that's what they be yellin'
I'm a pimp by blood, not relation
Y'all be chasin', I replace them, huh?"
As Biggie spit "When the Remi's in the system, ain't no tellin
Will I fuck em will I diss em, that's what these hoes yellin
I'm a pimp by blood, not relation
Y'all still chase on, I'll replace on, punks"
Biting or giving props: TBD... Repeat offender Jay famously addresses using Biggie's flow on "What More Can I Say" saying:
"I'm not a biter
I'm a writer
For myself and others
I say a big verse I'm only biggin' up my brother
Biggin' up my borough
I'm big enough to do it
I'm that thorough
Plus I know my own flow is foolish" before borrowing even more lyrics from Biggie's "Rap Phenomenon". He has also stated that he pays Biggie's estate everytime he samples his pen, which is hard to be mad at... still, Nas laments on "Ether": "How much of Biggie's rhymes is gonna come out your fat lips?" And, Jay has also been accused of stealing the song from State Property's Omilio Sparks and not fairly compensating him for the feature... so there's that...
