And this here is the whole point of this shit.

Its not like the Taliban fought the 300k strong, well equiped Afgan army and won.

The Afgan army did not want to fight for the Afgan govt.

The US for 20 fucking years supported a corrupt, unpopular govt.

But now you put a general in the mix who people support and want to fight for, and now you see thousands of Afganis who are willing to fight the Taliban

My thing is I know the US ain’t shit but wouldn’t it have been smarted to support somebody the people actually like and get that person on our side? But then again I don’t think none them want to be Americans

I think if you support a popular movement there, then by you supporting them, you become popular too.

The tweet referencing the people fighting the Taliban is supposedly a force that supports the vice president of Afganistan. Meaning its still a person who is a part of the US backed govt. So US could have just supported him from the get go

I think dude is feared as much as he is popular with his particular ethnic group. Plus he from the North of Afghanistan and has very strong support system there
 
The US literally cut the Afghan Government out and negotiated straight with the Taliban. The US leaves, but still gets access to the Trillions of dollars worth of resources without worrying about securing it.

US, China and other powers are vying for the minerals. CNN Business put an article up about it also.
 
Yeah, Dostum get busy.

Saleh with it, as well - he fought with the Mujahideen. His abilities would be needed elsewhere, though. Saleh really doesn't like the Taliban, they tortured his sister to death going after him.


The problem arises when it comes to leading the country. Dostum is Uzbek and Saleh is Tajik. You are going to have a tough time convincing most of the rural areas to get behind a non-Pashtun in the long run.
