Guest verses don't count when critiquing a rappers pen? If I'm being real, one of my gripes with Lupe is his beat selection. I feel like Lupe's career didn't ascend to where it should have because of his moral compass and Atlantic, but thats another topic. It's debatable that Ross got one of the best ears in music. And when he get with a group that knows how to play the game and doesn't stifle his creativity, Lupe drops bars like this.

Food & Liquor was done before Lupe ever signed a deal with Atlantic and most people praise that album and The Cool high.
