Breastfeeding In Public

It’s not when you expect to be fed every 2-3 hrs

Let’s say you got held up and end up going home an hour late

Good luck convincing your baby there’s no crisis

Now as a train rider you’d rather hear the baby screaming nonstop instead of having mom handle it?

It is strong. I've never once said that under no circumstances should women breastfeed on trains.

If you stuck on a train and won't be able to get odd any time soon sure go for it. If you're on an empty train cool go for it.

Crisis another needlessly strong word.

You guys are makin' me argue against super specific scenarios when I made a general statement.

So if the train isn’t empty, everybody gotta just deal with the crying?

I laughed @ the image of someone trying to calmly explain to a screaming baby “please stop crying, this is NOT a crisis and this is a needlessly strong reaction.”

b/c it dont work like that lol

this just gonna have to be one of those times that you as a person without a child just gotta trust that the people with the children know what they are talking about

and im telling you as a father, you learn pretty quickly to put away notions such as yours when its you who is having to deal with it. Now, lets assume i have some breastmilk in a bottle b/c im taking the baby out for the day with me.

You would have no problem with me feeding the same baby with a bottle but if it was their mother who did it with her nipple, while covered, you would have an issue?

So if there's a single person with a child who believes mothers should try not to breastfeed in enclosed, public spaces, your whole point is bs right?

I would not have an issue. I think it's unbecomin' and almost always unnecessary. But as I've stressed throughout, it is not a big deal

Crisis is your word, not the baby's.

Lol if you ever have a baby it’ll be your word sir

Can you answer the question though

It depends innit. If you about to get off in the next stop or too then yeah, babies cry and people should deal with it. If you're gonna be on for the long haul then cool whip em out.

You guys keep tryna make this a simple "yes is right, no is death" discussion when it's not.

Ehh

If she getting off in a few stops that’s obvious, cause the feeding process takes longer than that anyway

I guess I just don’t see the downside to taking care of the problem

single as in not in a relationship or single as in one individual?

I meant an individual person but Rubato made me realise that my entire argument is kinda moot since I'm in favour of breast feedin' in public in most circumstances and the ones I'm funny on are kinda unlikely anyway.

Like I don't think I've even seen someone breastfeed on the bus before. What would be the point? Like Rubato says if your stop is soon you'd need to get off before you're done and I've said from the beginnin' that if it's a long trip you do what you've got do.

Edit. Forgot to tag @Rubato

I actually breastfed on the bus and train in New York years ago when my daughter was a baby. Why? Because she was hungry AND my child’s hunger comes before how some grown ass men and women feel about it.

No real adult would even give a damn because if a woman lets her baby cry, they’ll still judge her and complain. Women just can’t win.

THIS!! Like people have to think beyond themselves. A mother feeding her child is nothing else but that. She doesn’t want attention, she’s not looking to flaunt her breasts but we aren’t given a choice with that. I’ve had to do it WHILE out at the laundromat. Wish a mf would say something to me about it.
