Recently, a dude I'm semi-cool with randomly called me to tell me a dude who he was supposed to be best friends with.... That I also went to HS with was smoking crack and fucked up some of his real estate properties.

Shit was completely unprompted, and had me immediately suspicious to as why dude would call me out the blue to gossip about his (to the best of my knowledge) best friend.

Like this was his boy. I know for a fact I'm not part of either of these dudes inner circle, so to give me this information could only mean one thing to me.

He was trying to see if and who I would tell about it.. Like if the information came back to him or his boy... He would know that I was talking about their business... Or he would know I was still in communication with certain people. Either way it was highly insulting to my intelligence. But even more I was kinda impressed at how quickly I recognized the tactic.

Has anyone else had experience with this kinda shit?

Bro, I get calls like these and as soon as they start the negative talk I will end the call and say I'll call them back and never do. If it ain't my business then I try to avoid shit like that at all cost
