even though you uppity negros wont admit it on here i know there about 15 on here with a grandmother from Hattiesburg Mississippi who cooked and made you eat the same foods i mentioned.

Not in forever. Sadly the generation of my family that still cooked food like that has passed away.

This topic makes me think about how everyone loves oxtail. So when I finally tried oxtail some years back, my reaction was that they are just neckbones lol. I grew up eating neckbones, and oxtail don't taste any different. Plus neckbones were cheap way back, so why are oxtails treated like some delicacy? Nah I'm good.

I miss my mom making hot water cornbread. We used to eat liver too. Don't sleep on mackerel patties either.

Oxtails came popping some years ago. But the Les bbq guy really made it a thing. Cause at first he was doing brisket and ribs. And just like chicken wings use to be cheap but high as he'll now. When somebody makes em the thing!! Price goes up.
Like those pineapple kool aid though price of the pineapples didn't go up but everybody trying to catch the wave and charge 20/25 dollars, for something my little girl can make for under 9 bucks. Folks treating the pineapples like it's dope.

I'm sure those mackeral patties are the same as the salmon patties from the can, that you'll eat with biscuits and rice
