Couple new pick ups...

Ive been wanting a bottle of Tiffany for Men for ages but couldnt find a bottle at a sensible price, they all seemed to be in Japan and stupid money... Thankfully one popped up in the UK for a decent price...

The box has seen better days but the bottle and juice is incredible... Its about 90% full too, so should last me ages, hopefully I'll find a back up at somepoint...

It was created by Olivier Polge, Chanel's in house perfumer...

Another fragrance Ive been waiting for the right one to pop up, a vintage Chanel Pour Monsieur... I won it in an auction for just over £100, which is a great price...

It was still sealed and even had the oldskool Boots sticker on it which is cool, Boots being a British pharmacy/beauty store company (I guess like Walgreens???) thats almost 200 years old...

The oakmoss makes this fragrance, its a shame the modern version has had to remove it due to IFRA rules, it adds so much depth and richness... I dated this bottle to November 1991, anything older I guess you kinda risk losing the top notes in a citrus forward fragrance...

I ordered several samples. Just tried Parfums de Marley - perseus. I like this one. Gonna put in the "might buy list".

I also got several sample frags from house Boadicea The Victorious. I havent put them to the test yet. What i like about them is that they have travel size for almost all there frags on their website.

So I have tried "Imperial" by Boadicea the Victorious . I dont think im a floral guy. Dont think i tried one i liked. This leans masculine but this smells is not for me. I really can't describe how it smells to me.
 
I got the following samples from Boadicea the Victorious. These are good fragrances but the prices are stupid high for a full bottle. The alternative is that they also sell travel size for most of their frags on their website. Gonna be testing the following over the next few days.

1907 - this shit is fire. A all year frag. Im not usually into lemon cause most smell like cleaning product but they do it right. Long lasting. Probably becomes a skin scent at hour 3. I got a fruity smell at hour 2, that was pleasant. It didnt smell like lemon. My girl loved it. The downside, this shit is $675 for a full bottle. Even on discount sites, you are not gonna find anything less than $500. The good news is they sell a travel size (10ml) on their offical site. I may just get that $65 (a little high for that size). Many say it smells exactly like God of Fire, so im gonna get a sample of GOF. GOF is in my price range, so if it does smell like 1907, I'll get it.

I have now tried the below:

Lavish - not a fan. Can pin point what it smells like. You can smell the lemon but not in a bad way.

Consort - smells great. Many mention it smells like Creed Aventus but has better performance. I havent smelled Aventus in years, so I dont remember. But it does smell like Nishane Hacivat and Roja Elysium on the initial spray. I already have Hacivat, so I will pass on this. But, once I run out of hacivat, I may get this. The grapefruit smell only last for about 15min in hacivat. There is no grapefruit in this but it smells like it, and that smell last longer in Consort.

Knight of love - not a bad smell but not for me. Has great longevity. A good 7-8 hours for me. Sillage is good as well for several hours. An all year round frag.

I will say, this frag house is not bad in terms of quality. Many had longevity. It's just their prices. They are crazy for the cost of some of their bottles. I really might go ahead and get the travel size of 1907.

Stephane humbert - God of Fire
Bond #9 - bleecker street
Polo - polo edt

God of Fire (Gof) has a strong mango smell on the first burst for about 30min. 1907 has a similar DNA as God of Fire, so that is why I got it. This is my second mango scent I tried. The first was Mindgames - blockade. I realized that I am not a mango fan. Smells really fruity. Smells better on a woman to me but this is a unisex frag. The dry down is great though and this is where it becomes unisex to me. The siliage is pretty good and will stay strong for about 3hrs on my skin before it becomes a skin scent. Total, it lasted about 6hrs. It is way cheaper then 1907 but I prefer 1907.

That OG Polo is GOAT bro... If you like it, then I really recommend getting a vintage (Cosmair era) miniature and experiencing it with the oakmoss bomb... Its incredible stuff, the perfect spring fragrance... Its a shame they had to remove the oakmoss...

I smelled the polo and im not a fan. I smelled a frag a few years ago that smelled like a forest. I can't remember the name and I have been in search for it recently. I thought it was a LV frag but it wasnt. I look online to see what has that vibe and it said Polo did. To that, I say "naw".

Damn I love that OG Polo, though Ive not smelt the current version without the oakmoss...


This Chanel is a favourite of mine, it's got little menthol note but it nails the forest/countryside vibe...



Another great forest frag but with a twist... Its incense based but imagine meditating in a Japanese forest...



I dont own this one but its worth checking out as it fits the bill, I need to revisit it and get a refresh...



Theres Rogue Perfumery that do quite alot of oakmossy 'Forest' type fragrances... Ive smelt most of their stuff but theres nothing I'd want a full bottle of...

Couple recent picks ups...

I won a job lot of sealed vintage Opium Pour Hommes for just over £60... They are only 'aftershave' concentration rather than EdTs... I just did a side by side and as expected they are just a weaker version of the EdT, slightly less spicy... The plan is to layer them with the vintage EdT...

I haven't brought much in the last few months because I'm challenging myself to use some bottles up and refine my collection. I've been Itching to buy some new new though. I did buy a travel size of Armani's Power of you. Smells amazing, but I don't pull for fruity tropical scents enough buy a full bottle...

You got one of those places where you live where can make your own fragrance?
 
Just got my 1907 in. This automatically jumped to my top 3 frags. I really want a full bottle but they crazy with the price. They need to make a 50 and 30ml bottle. They also gave me a sample of Harmonious. It is a floral scent. I really can't describe it but it is not for me. It is unique though.

@Goldie if you havent yet, you should try this fragrance house (boadicea the Victorious). Really anyone should try it. They have some quality stuff. Most of the ones I tried have longevity.

Yeah, they are high. That's why i just got the travel size for $60. That will last me the year, since I rotate my frags.

Some are on Jomashop for half the price though. Just not the one i actually want.

Neiman Marcus sells this brand , so you might be able to smell them there.

Did you try Blue Sapphire yet? Niggas talk about that joint like it's the holy grail. I haven't smelled it yet.

I didnt bother. Shit is too expensive. Even the travel size was like $100. I know i wasnt gonna spend that much for that size bottle, so I didnt try to sample it.
