COMMUNITY The Stand Up Comedy Thread

Ali Siddiq has been on a roll in recent years.

I had never heard of him until he did his "Mexicans Got Boots" story on Ari Shaffirs show. Instantly became a fan. Outside of that and the Mitchell story and appearances he made on Podcasts i still hadnt heard a whole lot of his work, but then he started dropping Youtube specials like crazy. He releases several hours in the same year. Not all of them are laugh out loud hilarious, but the dudes got some really crazy stories and lived a wild life. He sounds like hes a good guy, was just put into a horrible environment for a kid and did what he knew how to do until he went to prison.

If folks arent super familiar with him, check out his comedy special series on youtube called "Domino Effect". I lost count of how many have been released, but I think theres at the very least 3 of them, there might be more.

The series starts with his young child years, then part 2 is his teens then every entry is him telling the story of a different decade of his life and how he got to where he is. Theres some good laughs, but a lot of it is kind of like what Dave Chappelle does. Hes just talking and trying to give a message. Hes not setting up punchlines, hes just telling a story and his natural way of telling it is just funny.

Hes also got several other youtube specials that are all about his family. Or most of them are. Dude has done really well for himself although hes not known by the casual comedy fan.
