When a man says my wife is the boss does his credibility take a hit?

Not really.

For the most part, dudes who say things like that are just saying it in jest.

I don't think they intend to give the impression that their woman runs them.

Nope, not unless his wife is leading him into oncoming traffic.

If she's a better leader, then I think it's respectable for a guy to be able to recognize that and not let his pride ruin a good thing.

The only thing about women as leaders of a household is that some of them (some guys too) seem to think it's all about having the authority to control everything and tell everyone in the house what to do. The Bible basically says that a leader should be a servant, and I've found that's true. When you're the head of the household, you are the authority everyone in the house looks to, but you're not focused on being the Boss. You're focused on making sure everyone else is good even at your own expense. If a person can't do that, they should be the leader or boss regardless of their sex.

Management 101:

Delegation shows trust. We're a team. And to show I respect her decision making skills, I delegate tons of shit to the wife. It creates a partnership and takes a lotta unnecessary stress off of my plate. So when someone says the wife is the boss, it's normally because duties and decisions in the household are not a dictatorship. Wife's input is just as valuable as mines.
