Can't look at this in a vacuum.

Look at it for OKC. The issue is OKC giving Chet 40-50M over the next few years when you are already in the luxury tax and have a bunch of young guys that need to get paid.

The idea needed to be you have your big 3 and you can plug and play anyone else.

But Chet ain't good enough to be in that big 3.

Now you need to make hard decisions. The repeater tax gonna be a monster and owners ain't paying that.

Y'all keep talking about Chet this and Chet that.

If the heat trade for Chet, then boom. Hes 24, go and give him the max.

Same with most teams.

But Chet is on the Thunder. Hes one of the 3 foundational pieces, and the foundation is weak cause of him.

lol how are you giving Chet more flack saying the foundation is weak because of him and he’s not good enough to be in their big 3 when Jalen Williams stays hurt? Lol

You’re also talking like Chet is holding the Thunder back from making moves to be better lol

Beta who cares about what these other players make man? Lmaooo.

The question, can the Thunder continue paying Chet this much and continue to be the team to beat the next 10 years?

Idgaf what Paul George makes. Lmaoo
Team to beat for 10 years is a wild measuring stick lmao

why are you dismissing how impactful Chet is on both ends for the Thunder? Also why are you doing this based on one series? Lol

You guys just want to look for someone to blame and then put a magnifying glass on Chet

He just needs to come back better next season and be more prepared for wemby. The Thunder too

That’s it

What young player on OKC do they have to pay thats better or more deserving than Chet?

They already won a championship with this big 3 so its not like it didnt/doesnt work

The Thunder not having their second and third best ball handler is what hurt them more than Chets performance

Facts. I agree. I almost made the point and said Jalen Williams too.

But seeing how bad Chet is in creating for himself, hes less important now than Jalen Williams.

And I don't want to hear about Chets defense. Get you a Mitchell Robinson for 15 mil

No young player is more deserving than Chet.

A combination of players might be more deserving than what I've seen from Chet though.

Ima have to second that. I might not be where @AZTG is at but Chet a whole clown to me after this series. He let himself get heaux’d out by Wemby. He the new Ben Simmons

I wasn't where I was at until the last back and forth.

I was like eh Chet overpaid and overpaying a young player in this new cba has consequences.

But now? Hate watching Thunder games.

Fuck it. We gonna agree to disagree for today.

But man Chet just earned himself a new hater. And I mean hate with a fucking passion.

Until now I just a neutral observer saying Chet ain't all that.

But now? I got heat for Chet.

Y'all gone hear from me @southsil4lil @Sky Davis

I just feel like I know who Chet is so I don't have expectations of him being some scorer or some guy you're consistently running offense through...... As much as people want them to be Jabari, Mobley, Chet ect all these dudes are not scorers who are not going to go get you at quick 25-30 every night but they're still valuable becaue they do other things at a very high level

I think here is my point. Forget Chet. Just in general. With the new CBA, you can't expect to be an elite top 5 team for multiple years without have all 3 of your 3 best players be able to create for themselves.

Chet just happened to be that guy so I was in here using him as the example.

Its just a philosophy in team building. I don't need 3 allstars. I need 1 elite player that can give me 30 and hit tough shots and close the game. And then I need 2 really good players who can get their own shots and play make for others.

I need 2 of these players to be great perimeter defenders.

Rim protectors are dime a dozen. And thats the problem with Chet.

Amazing on defense? Sure. But I can find amazing rim protection much easier than find the 3rd guy that can create for himself and other.

Chet just doesn't fit how I would build a team at this price point.

I agree.....the new cba has made team building difficult and you have to spend wisely

But if the goal is to win a championship.....OKC just did that with this core so its not like it didnt work or he's holding them back

And think you're missing the overall point with Chet......its not that he's a rim protector...he also stretches the floor(in theory and up until the this series that had been the case)

You know theres about 3-5 players in the entire league that can do that....Wemby, Myles Turner, Chet, Evan Mobley and Lopez

Thats a valuable skillset that tends to get paid and you dont just let go if dont have to

I'm also on record hating Bam, Mobley, and Myles. And Lopez don't get paid like them other guys so he out the discussion.

OKC won the chip without Chet making this much. The question this whole time is can they maintain their success with Chet making this much.

Thats what we gonna see.
