Official Wrestling News Thread

this whole week been weird as shit tho. i cant remember the last time they had a ppv PR week where go this smooth. (It aint over yet but still...)

they took over every thing with the public appearances and damn near every interview had other talent putting over either trick, j'evon or Oba in it. They been topic of discussion this whole week but Im happy Reigns threw Melos name out there in that clip ice posted cause i notice they keep leaving him outta the convo like he not part of that of group.
Yeah he did throw Melo's name out but it was a basketball player's name. Y'all chief mixing up black men

Our girl @KillaCham big Wendy the Evolve champ.

Man they need to let her go lol she’s been in NXT as long as Tony D & Nikitta. She ain’t never gon be a talent they push. I’m kinda surprised they made her Evolve champ but I don’t watch that shit to know what lead up to that. But yeah shout outs to my girl still holdin it down

WE UP!!!

Winning the peewee title after 7 years in development is wild tho. I'm surprised they still got her out here in these WWE streetz. At least she got rid of that evil Snorlax gimmick... fuck it... all aboard the Choo Choo Train!!

The original pitch for what evolved into Pat McAfee's role at Wrestlemania 42 was quite different, PWInsider.com can confirm.

PWInsider.com is told that a pitch for Orton's WrestleMania role back in January involved SmackDown star Aleister Black tormenting Orton, trying to bring out the old Apex Predator version of Orton. The idea was that if Black succeeded, it would prove Orton had never changed or evolved and was still the old Orton deep inside. We are told the idea was that Black and Orton would face off Mania weekend, with Orton would hesitate to use his punt kick and likely lose, but then later attack Cody Rhodes as a Wrestlemania angle, using the punt to bring back the old Apex Predator and prove Black right all along.

It's unclear how far the pitch progressed through WWE's creative process, but echoes of the original plan appear in Pat McAfee's role, including the return of the Apex Predator and Orton punting Cody with the kick at Wrestlemania. So, at some point, McAfee's role effectively replaced the pitched version featuring Black.

Black worked The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on Smackdown this week.

For those who asked about how Cody Rhodes hurt his eye last night, PWInsider.com is told that it was an Orton punch that caught him and cut Rhodes right before the eyepoke that led to Orton hitting an RKO on referee Charles Robinson.

Rhodes' eye swelled up after the bout.

There is no word yet on how Rhodes is as of this writing. He was pulled from WWE World and a scheduled photo session today.
