I maintain that The Blackening is a modern day classic for the culture.

Definitely Nobody, most people will agree it's good.... But a lotta people still haven't seen it when I talk about it casually. Nobody 2 was good as well, but the first was a true classic as well.

Megan 2.0 is fucking hilarious from start to finish and such a fun watch. I think a lotta people dislike how it became more action/comedy than horror.. But the first movie was completely unserious as well. It was just a slower burn. It still delivered, but I think the attempted to present it as serious in the trailers and let it surprise you with the comedy. 2.0 is much more fun from the jump. This woman's work was one of the funniest scenes ever. I can't watch that shit without crying laughing.

It’s funny the inspo for this thread was me thinking about Jojo rabbit and how much I enjoyed it even considering the subject matter and that fuck Taika Waititi but I ultimately left it out

What I really liked about nobody was the temperament of Hutch's character.


Like he was almost like Clark Kent. He wanted to just be chill, normal and left alone. He had no desire to stand out in anyway. He was like the Cheetah that refused to race the Greyhound. He knew who he was, and had nothing to prove. He had no desire or concern to be a tough guy. He didn't feel the need to be macho or competitive. He was so reserved to just living a chill mild mannered existence.

They just fucked with him. And he went OFF. It was just fun. Cuz many people walk away from altercations not cuz they scared or intimidated.. But because they really just don't wanna deal with the ugly bloody mess of it all. But when your hand is forced, then you gotta let everyone know why you were tryna chill, cuz now nobody is having a good day.

The Blackening is definitely a modern day classic that is still under the radar. One of the few films I have seen in theaters. It was even better because of the Black people in the theater adding commentary. I think I'm one of the few people who likes a little live commentary in the background when the timing is right.

It has a low rating on IMDb, but this is one of the best vampire movies i have seen. I watched it when it came out and also recently and it still held up. Don't expect any special effects, but its an interesting take on a vampire origin story. A slow burner that you would see on IFC/Sundance way back.

I'll come back when I think of a third.
 
Gotta second Nobody. That's one of my favorite movies nowadays.

The Foreigner - Not your typical Jackie Chan flick and I like this one almost as much as Nobody.
Upgrade - I fucks with this one a lot, the ending has a nice twist to it.

Im sure im missing some but these 3 come to mind. Great acting, great scripts. Conclave and Past lives were award nominees and winners but most people I know haven't heard of or watched either.

I truly regret not seeing this in theaters. I feel like this the kinda movie that would have had the entire audience crying with laughter.

There are so many parts that are just funny af.
Man boy was killing me the entire movie. When he got shot with the arrows. Telling the chick you jerk off the door knob. When he discovered the killer couldn't fight.

Shit like that was classic.

Turning the gun up straight when dude was trying to shoot from the side grip. Shit was just hilarious. I hope that group makes more moves. Not necessarily a sequel, but we just need more from that writer/ director combo. Cuz they did their thing

Conclave was actors masterclass. The assessment was just wild af lol, you gonna laugh or want to punch something while watching it or both like I did lol.
