Reading easily...because how the fuck you gonna do math if you can't read a word problem?
I'm mostly playing devil's advocate. You can still function at as high level and hide that you can't read by having folks read for you.

But you can't fake not understanding math. You'd be very limited, and the world doesn't really cater for learning deficiency

But they will aid an handicap like being illiterate

there's still some adults who don't kno their left from right

we've come a long way but still got far to go

Only for but so long. And you will get taken advantage of because lack of ability to read usually ties into a lack of ability to comprehend. You miss tons of context and can be easily manipulated because you gotta trust everyone else's understanding of things over your own.

again, you can have close people to you , ie family, who can read things to and for you....

i've seen this play out far too many times, and at way too high of a successful level...especially older black folks who didn't' always have access to formal fundamental education at an elementary age....

there's a lotta black folks who got by and have been successful in life who never knew how to read... but they were always good with earning, saving, counting and keeping track of their money.

it's preachers who have committed damn near the entire bible to memory, yet can't individually read one verse

Thats few and far in between. Can't treat the exception like it's the rule. If you can't read then unless you got somebody with you basiclaly 24/7 anytime you need something explained you gonna get got.

Only nick cannon
That's way more common than people think though.

I know and have come across many musicians that were way better than me who learned to play by ear and can't read music for shit.

I learned my reading music and always struggled in jazz and gospel cuz most of them learned by ear.

It's essentially the same thing. People can still have highly functional brains and operate at a high level without knowing how to read.

Math on the other hand is more cognitive
If you don't understand math, you're kinda limited in life. Not knowing how to read doesn't really reflect your understanding of a concept

Many experts in trade fields didn't learn in a classroom or learn their craft through instructional reading. But are still experts in the same thing. Look no further than Mason's

Thats completely different and not a good comparison because it also involves the ability to play by ear based on preexisting knowledge. If you can't read then there's no preexisting foundation
It's actually a great one. You can be a great musician without being able to read music.

You cannot be a great musician if you can't count the beat.

Typing all of this in response to “nick cannon” is wild

Fuck off bro

Like your can go through life and still learn things without having to independently read those things. Too many people have had success to discount that
