I think you're taking the quotes too literal at least towards the two of us you quoted... for some of those that cared have a connection out there, like a military figure, or contractor, or some type or business related set-up. And if you not on news around the world or a lover of history or it doesn't impact you/the country for some, then its out of sight out of mind. Hell in the last 20 years whole new group of ppl have come of age with no real awareness as to what brought on this situation

This is truth, seeing events in real time hits ppl hard, at least until they're desensitized. Think Vietnam once cameras were able to film the insanity.

Its just incredibly frustrating to see all these hot takes from people who a) haven't lived it and b) haven't said shit about it in over a decade. Like this all just started happening when the news decided to talk about it.
It's a selfish kind of frustration because people don't know what they don't know.
 
The same way you went over there and weren't able to move the needle, it's the same way for us civilians over here. No amount of protests or letters to our representatives did shit. It's been "bring the troops home" since Bush got out of office. So enough with the people didn't care schtick, it's bullshit, man.

Because there’s only villains and the regular people are getting shit on. We are turning our backs on everyone who helped us along the way and it’s bullshit. It could have been done better. Anyone who thinks there won’t be retaliation for anyone who helped the coalition is fooling themselves. Doesn’t feel good to know your country isn’t acting with integrity. The taliban are Villains too. They’re already killing people. Fuck them.
